2021 Vicky Slusser Achievement Scholarship

VICKY SLUSSER SCHOLARSHIP – DEADLINE: MAY 1, 2021

 

Vicky Slusser was the founding director of Communities of Schools of

Rowan County from September of 1998 until her retirement in June of

2015, and is credited with building the new program's visibility and

performance with professional standards and exemplary service.

Communities In Schools of Rowan County will be awarding at least one

scholarship to a high school senior who expects to graduate from a

Rowan-Salisbury School System high school in 2021 and who is or has

been enrolled in a CIS Rowan school site for at least one school year

during their school career.  These schools include: Hanford Dole

Elementary, Hurley Elementary, Isenberg Elementary, North Rowan

Elementary, Overton Elementary, Knox Middle School, North Rowan

Middle School and North Rowan High School.

 

The selected recipient will demonstrate how the mission of Communities In Schools, “to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life” helped them to reach Graduation Day.

 

This scholarship, sponsored by CIS of Rowan County is awarded to honor Executive Director Vicky Slusser for her many years of service to the students served by Communities in Schools.

 

Applications and details can be obtained at www.cisrowan.org or in Guidance Offices at all Rowan Salisbury High Schools.  Deadline for submission is May 1st at 4:00pm.  Completed applications must be received in the CIS Office by 4:00pm May 1st .  The mailing address is:
