ABOUT CIS ROWAN
Since 1998, Communities In Schools (CIS) of Rowan County has been a key support system for local students. We started at Knox Middle School.
Our goal: to help students overcome challenges. For 25 years, we've grown. We now help students stay in school and succeed in life. We know that despite our deep roots in Rowan County, many people are unaware of the work we do. We're here to change that.
Our Growth, Impact, and Visibility:
We've expanded to serve many schools in Rowan County. We work with over 80 community partners. Together, we provide support for students' academic, social, and emotional needs. We make sure every student has the tools to succeed. We want to be more visible and known in our community, so more people understand the impact we make.
Community Support and Awareness:
Over 300 volunteers help us. They serve as mentors and tutors. We work with schools, businesses, and community groups. This teamwork creates a strong support system for students and families. We want to increase community awareness of our vital role.
