The mission of Keep America Beautiful is to inspire and

educate people to take action every day to improve and

beautify their community environment. The major focus areas

are to end littering, improve recycling, and beautify our

communities.

In our neighborhoods and communities many people

work hard to clean up litter and recyclables, plant gardens,

work in sustainable community gardens, plant trees, shrubs,

and flowers, and to educate folks about working together to

keep our surroundings beautiful.

In our schools, there are ongoing educational themes and

activities concerning understanding and respecting nature

systems. Our schools reuse and recycle as much as possible.

Many schools also have butterfly and vegetable gardens, nature

trails, and green areas for education purposes and enjoyment.

How can you help to “Keep America Beautiful”?

Consider getting outside and seeing what you can do to

beautify your environment. Consider taking a walk or riding

your bike and appreciate the nature around you. You might

consider picking up trash and recycles along the way. You

could plant trees and flowers, create vegetable garden areas,

and work to reduce, reuse, and recycle in your everyday

activities.
